  1. Can I join in here. My copy of the beta doesn’t have the little > next to the image.
  2. Yes, all the way along from about 1.0 what ever it was 🙂 I figured that was the case. No transfer with Betas. Could get messy if there was. I probably didn't export the non-transfers as System in the first place. No worries. I like being able to actually see what's in the Assets panels mostly. Very nice.
  3. So I just started doing a bit of inking of a manga character and 2.3 came live, so I switched over to 2.3 and immediately discovered that I'd left the custom "skin tone" palette behind in 2.2. So I opened 2.2, exported the palette, and back to 2.3 and imported it. Now what I'm trying to figure out, is I have other custom palettes in 2.2 that did transfer over? But not all of them. Is it dependant on whether they are System palettes? Application palettes? or something else that's happening. It's not a big deal, I'm just curious. 2.3 is looking real good. Have to explore more yet, iPad and PC as well for all three. 2.3 Beta file
  4. Im not seeing the Vera updates in the download area for Windows. 2.2 is there, but I don’t see 2.3
  5. I’m thinking I’ve said no to permission to copy. How do I turn it on, because it’s a pain not being able to copy and paste. Forget it. It’s that business of publisher not recognizing the Pencil, only the long press finger tip.
  6. The desktop has Gradient fill in the table body, but iPad it is missing. There is a Gradient option, but it's all black white or transparent, and can't be coloured. To get a coloured Gradient you gave to use two text frame layers. First image, gradients. Second image Text Frame covering table body and colour applied, then moved under Gradient Table Body. You apparently can't adjust the Gradient. What you see is what you get. Or is this another feature of ignoring the Apple Pencil.?? But otherwise, it works ok.
  7. Can the Code Gurus please add the Apple Pencil to the Publisher Table Editing options. As it stands, getting the drop-down menus and pop ups especially in the Tables areas relies on a finger tap. The Pencil is ignored or else causes other behaviour. I’d like to see it consistent for both Pencil and finger. Particularly for the iPad mini, and people with Big Fingers. But I’m sure it would be appreciated by a lot of people because at present there is no indication that the only method that works is the finger. In most cases. In some cases one works, then the other works. Then nothing works. Which is why I mentioned consistency as well. Thanks
  8. I’ll do that, thanks for the suggestion. I feel it needs to be consistent. Being able to use both pencil or finger.
  9. Well thats a pain. Also getting the menu that has delete Columns and Rows in to pop up in any case is a very random exercise. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Even with the finger pointer. Never with the penci where it does the same thing as previously mentioned. I put a comment and video showing it not working into the general comments forum so I won’t repeat it here. Any chance this is going to be looked at? It makes any serious table work really impossible.
  10. RPReplay_Final1697547570.mp4 I’ll attach a video, but there are a couple of things to report. I’ve already put one in the reporting section. Selecting a set of cells for example, with intent to merge them fails to recognise the Pencil. Only using the finger tip lets it work to bring down the popup menu to select Merge Cells. I can find no way to delete Columns or Rows. Again, only the finger tip works to open the popu menu, but even then tapping Delete achieves nothing. Getting the other popup menu with Delete Rows and Delete Columns to actually is very random, and crashes the app entirely as you will see. Video showing actions.
  11. iPad mini 6. Latest software etc. Apple Pencil 2. Selecting multiple cells to merge works with the Apple Pencil but as soon as I try a long press the selection disappears and I can’t get the pop up to happen. However… If I use my Finger, it all works pretty much as it says in the help text. see attached video. RPReplay_Final1697445498.mp4
  12. Well I can only get it to work sometimes. sometimes it works, mostly it doesn’t pop up the popup so I can merge cells
  13. The screen is only a fixed size in relation to your document. Think of the screen as a window on your document. If your document is larger than your screen you can scroll around it, or zoom in or out.
  14. Do you mean can you make an art board full screen? Or do you mean can you create a new document and work on it full screen? the answer to both is yes you can.
  15. Given that Affinity Publisher is now quite a mature package, and quite brilliant at that, it would be really nice to see the much-requested EPUB and HTML formats in the Export table. Given that both have been around since computers, or at least the web was invented. The epub tree is really quite simple. Which anyone can see, by renaming an epub document to a zip file and extracting it. There's the tree. Now the Text folder contains the story pages in HTML format, so obviously creating HTML pages is also a by-product. A third-party program on the mac and PC called 'epubcheck' is there and free to check your created EPUB files prior to sending for publishing. Personally, I find the whole EPUB-creating thing now so last century that I don't bother. I don't have a use for it. Even KDP is bypassing it. They and all the other publishers create their own versions from almost any file you want to send them—reflowable or Fixed Format. And of course, EPUB is only reflowable, and is now almost proprietary. The new Kindles read fixed format (EPUB3) fine. However, there are a LOT of people who choose to roll their own and publish EPUBS for personal distribution - bypassing the print houses. And that's fine. Anyway, It would be a nice addition. Instead of Sigil, Calibre, Jutoh and Adobe Digital Creations, we'd had a nice addition to Publisher. Just a suggestion that I hope bears fruit, Robert
  16. So just to check, when the clone tool is first selected, it says “Click +Plus Drag to clone selected source." Shouldn't this say Alt+ Select to select a source, Then say Click And Drag to clone, then say Alt + Click to select another source. So I get confused easily.... It pretty much works if I Alt+Select first. Then turn Alt off. But... so let me do a video.
  17. What’s the secret to controlling the cross-hair position when trying to use Clone Brush. It appears to be randomly placed when selecting and painting. Either too close to the edge - or over it, or even o a part of the image I don’t want to clone.
  18. Is it possible to add Editing of Folders to the menu? The existing option allows me to locate and add folders to the list, but not remove them. The little icon on the bottom left is all there is. Locate folders, but not remove them from the list displayed.
  19. Hello Sean, Interesting situation. I'm wondering if I can ask a question or two. Let me detail exactly what I'm running here first. Oh, I might add, that I fully understand the various limitations of mixing software on a single platform, and I'm not at all complaining or anything, just discussing really so here goes. I'm running a MacOS 13.5.2 (22G91) M2Mini with 26GB RAM etc etc. On top of that, I'm also running Parallels Desktop so I can use Windows 11 for the Windows versions of Affinity. The old Toshiba L630 Laptop Windows 10 is now about 20 years old and just doesn't cut the mustard any more, so I needed a fast Windows so I can still do work for my Youtube channel on Windows in addition to the Mac and iPad versions. Also, keep up with the Beta release. The Affinity Trilogy works brilliantly on the Mac, and so do the Updates and Betas - behaving as they should. The same on the iPad Mini 6. As do the updates and Betas. The same on the Toshiba Laptop, as do the updates and Betas. Almost .... the same on the Windows 11 in Parallels. All three of the apps work fine. No problems. Except when there is an Update ready for either the Release versions or the Beta versions. That's when I get the "Can't Install Update" error as shown in the video above. So, okay, go to Serif and download the files, open them and they Update the installed versions fine no worries. It's just the Install Update part of the process from the Update menu of the installed app that's broken. Now I know that the M2 has a few anomalies that can be insurmountable in cross-platform behaviour but affecting only the Install Update part of the process seems a little odd. So after all that a question. Is there a Log file I can watch to try and catch what it is that the process is falling over? Are the developers able to catch it on their test bed? Are they able to watch the process happening? I know all of the Affinity Apps run on Windows 11 on the M2 in Parallels set up perfectly. Very nice. Just not the install update part. Am I the only person in the world that is seeing this? I would like to say again, I'm not trying to be a nuisance about this I'm just trying to figure out what is causing the Update failure. Apart from the vague "it's an ARM thing". Anyway, I'll continue along and continue to enjoy the software which works brilliantly. Cheers Robert
