99Combo got a reaction from NotMyFault in F2 for renaming layers
Windows users are used to renaming folders pressing F2 instead of having to double click to rename. Just pressing F2 and writing a new name is faster than clicking on it to change it.

99Combo got a reaction from faerton in preferences: add option to remove/hide brush outline
I'm having the same issue, it would be such a better experience without the white outline🙏😭🎨🖌️💚
In rounded brushes the outline is not a problem because you can still see what you are painting, but in more weird shaped brushes it becomes pretty annoying.
The improved version would end up looking somewhat like this:

I hope it can get fixed soon, thank you!

99Combo got a reaction from Old Bruce in F2 for renaming layers
The return key in Windows deletes the layer for me. Double click works when you give it focus in the layers panel, but I give an element focus by selecting it in the Document View and it would be nice to instantly rename that selected layer with F2 since the return key doesn´t rename layers in Windows.

99Combo got a reaction from Markio in Artboard 1 instead of Artboard1
It would look cleaner in my opinion that the numbers next to the artboards name were separated from them and aesthetically I feel is more pleasing.

99Combo reacted to walt.farrell in Option to enable to see images outside the canvas for reference purposes
In Photo that actually increases the canvas size to include the other images, which may not be desired.
In my experience, due to some bugs that have not been fixed yet, using Photo to work on documents that contain artboards can lead to very puzzling situations. So I would not recommend this approach.

99Combo reacted to walt.farrell in A button in the toolbar for flip horizontal
It already exists on Affinity Photo on MacOS, I think, and is a known bug that it's missing on Windows.

A very minor annoyance, but it's slightly annoying me as well.

99Combo reacted to walt.farrell in Is Affinity Designer even developed anymore?
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, HypoSim.
Yes, Designer is still being developed. All you have to do is look at the release notes for each of the releases, and you will see many major and minor enhancements have been made over that time period. You can find them here.
And the next release, 1.9, is in beta testing now with additional enhancements.
That does not mean that Serif will provide all the functions that everyone is asking for; they have their own plans and their own priorities.

I found one can shuffle points in the same spot along Z-axis with arrow-up/down keys - but it´s a bit of trial&error as you most likely don´t see the point order.
Cheers

99Combo reacted to walt.farrell in Add an Artboard Tool
You can do that without Artboards, though the method differs a bit depending on whether you're using Mac or Windows. For Mac, use Separated mode, and you can float images side-by-side. For Windows, you can Float images, or drag them from the tab bar so they float.
In both, you can use View > New View but more likely to do before/after you'll want to take a Snapshot and create a new document from it, then have it open beside your original.
No Artboards needed
