I don't know about the problem you had but I've noticed with 1.9 that when I edit a TIF and export it as a JPG the export save as dialog says it's exporting the image as an Affinity file. It seems to be a JPG though but I find this to be rather misleading. See attached.

The way I would do it using Affinity Photo would be to select the background layer, draw your selection on the part of the image you want to blur, then go to Menu > Layer > New Live Filter Layer > Blur > Gaussian Blur.

I applied a small amount of capture sharpening in the Develop Persona then in the Photo Personal I applied the final sharpening. Most of my Affinity Photo settings are defaults including the raw engine (Serif).

Just for a point of comparison I downloaded the provided CR2 file and opened it in Affinity Photo, developed it, made some minor edits to it in Photo Persona, then I exported it as a TIF. It looked ok to me. Then without editing anything else I converted it to JPG format to reduce the file size and have uploaded it here.

After you have resized the image did you go to Menu > View > Zoom > 100% (CTRL + 1 on Windows) To show the image at its new full size?

The closest I can come to using a macro in the Develop persona is to have several different presets configured, presets that do different things.

Using the latest 1.7.2 version of Affinity Photo I think I may have found a bug in the Develop Persona. Using a DNG raw file, maybe other raw formats too but I'm using DNGs, if I have highlight and shadow clipping enabled I can see the highlight and shadow clipping as expected when I adjust the exposure and blackpoint sliders. However if I change the saturation adjustment from 0 to any other amount the clipping indicators for highlights and shadows disappear altogether. Midtone clipping still shows however. Can someone please verity this? Thanks John

Greetings all, New user here, I purchased Affinity Photo a month ago and have been thoroughly enjoying this software. It fits in beautifully with my old workflow when I was using Lightroom and Photoshop. That said, there's one thing I find a little frustrating. In the Develop Persona I toggle the grid overlay on/off quite often as I make lens corrections and I never know what to expect when the grid appears. Most of the time I have to go to the Grid and Axis manager to manually set the grid for the image I'm working on. My images are all DNG format, is there a way to set the default grid spacing?
