I realize this is an old post, but I had the same detail refinement issue and was directed here. Part of your answer left me puzzled. I thought that one had greater latitude in Develop persona on a raw image than one did after one left the Develop persona and entered the Photo persona. Yet your answer suggests that detail refinement in the Photo persona would be just as effective as the detail refinement in the Develop persona.

Thank you John and Dan. I set my Develop Persona to 32 bit and viewed the image at 100% pror to clicking "Develop". The detail refinement was now the same in bow the Develop and the Photo personas. Odd that I didn't notice this until after the 1.7 update.

I too am losing detail refinement when leaving the Develop persona. I exaggerated the amount of refinement here for illustration purposes. Original Raw Detail Refinement set to maximum Refinement lost upon leaving the Develop persona This did not happen to me prior to updating to version 1.7 Any help appreciated, Rob Davidson
