Really glad Live mesh warp now works with multiple Outline FX, really looking forward to using it often now.

We are pleased to announce an update for the Windows release of Affinity Photo 2, version 2.0.3
We plan to also release this build as a MSI/EXE installer. Please follow this FAQ thread for notification of it's release.
The changes in Affinity Photo 2 for Windows 2.0.3 (those made since the last release Affinity Photo 2 for Windows 2.0.0) are as follows:

UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers)
The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in Help > About Affinity Photo).
If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store — each time you start the Affinity Store software it will check for updates and offer any available update. The latest update will install over the top of any earlier version, with no need to uninstall. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Photo for Windows) can be downloaded from this link. (that installer is NOT for Windows Store purchases and needs a product key).
If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store — Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.

Please note: We are working on an equivalent MSI/EXE installer to ALSO be available before the time this 2.0.3.x beta cycle finishes, and becomes a public release.
This beta is an update to the 2.0.0 version recently released to all customers and will form the basis of our first patch for 2.0.0. We recommend that you use this beta in preference to the release version if you are affected by any of the issues listed below.
 
If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry.

I narrowed the issue down a bit, I got it working via : renaming the msix to zip, unzipping it and using the path to that unzipped exe.

As long as the properly installed and original msix Version is open and running, The I/O  will go now straight to the msix program.
3DCoat will now sent the files as it did before in V1 now with V2.

They could make the icons on the top as a carousel, so that you can scroll through the icons. They could even make the list customisable, so you could choose your most used formats and arrange them according to your needs.

Well, the V1 Export window on Retina display has a size of 1308x838px and the V2 Export window is 1722x1296px by default (can be resized to be even larger).
I am quite sure that there is enough room for V1 style. There are 11 presets in V1 and 13 in V2 at the moment (where JPEG XL can easily be put together with JPEG).
So if you enlarge this Export window to let's say 1800x1300px there will be plenty of room for preset at the top AND it would create enough space on the left side for Preview - as I tried to mock up above. 
Here is another attempt - I've expanded the window little bit and I was able to fit 14 presets to the top.

I posted elsewhere the problems with new installer . The SO CALLED option to install to another drive is terrible. Look that  the MESS of a directory it creates
It is important for a lot of COMPANIES and WORKFLOWS to have correct directory structures. The inability to INSTALL the APPS where you want is a massive problem for a lot of us in the GRAPHIC DESIGN world ( particularly in FILM ).
I create graphics for movies and CONTRACT to many companies. I have had two notices this morning to stop using AFFINITY file formats and migrate to AI and EPS only. This is due to the NEW INSTALLER and they do not want to USE V2 because of it. Many of the companies and scripts and backups and a very strict workflow based on where things are and was the reason i was given.
I just got away from finally use of ADOBE software. Now i have to start a SUBSCRIPTION again.
This is a two fold issue in my case. FIRST off, I now need to spend more more money and go back to ADOBE . Two the companies are not PURCHASING V2 of AFFINITY Software ( one of the companies alone has 35 seats of the software ) .So now I have to output money for ADOBE and AFFINITY if i wish to keep using it. 
I love AFFINITY Software. Never had any complaints about what they have done or where they are going.
BUT THIS IS A BIG SCREW UP in my eyes. We DON'T use ANY software that doesn't allow us a choice on where to INSTALL.
 
PLEASE SERIF for those  that are reading this and listening, Please give us the choice of the old installer and keep the users.

Similar issue for me with a program called 3D Coat where I regularly export all the layers to an external paint program which was Photo 1.0
 
While I added the Photo 2 exe as my new external export editor for layers it literally does nothing now when I choose to export. Its like Photo 2 being a Windows App in that directory blocks everything and not sure how I can fix it so I have to keep using Photo 1.0 for now, save the file in Photo 1.0, close Photo 1.0, then open it in Photo 2.

Filter Forge 11 plugin files are there - yes, they are there. I wrote to tech support, they replied that they are working on it.
 

 

I agree. No online always subscription fees and only having to pay for big version number updates is ok by me.

I honestly do not see the issue being treated as a new user or having to pay the same price as anyone else for v2. Its a literal steal compared to other subscription models like Adobe where after just 2+ months you'd already be paying more than Affinity Suite. On top of that you still will never have the enjoyment of perpetually owning the Adobe products no matter how many years go by on top of the constant payments. Its not like you need v2 right now anyways and can wait for bug fixes and additional features which I am sure the 40% discount would come around in the future.
 
With all that said the moment the website refreshed for v2 launch I bought the whole suite no questions asked. Been an Affinity user for a good 3+ years.

Choose Show Group Thumbnails from the Layers panel menu and they will appear

If professional software costing $100 is too much to spend on your business or side hustle, then you probably need to find a different business or side hustle. 
You get the entire suite forever for half the cost of a single month of Adobe, quit complaining and pay for your tools. 
Cheapskates. 

Up to 9 years ago when Adobe introduced subscriptions, I would spend eur600 every 18 months upgrading the Creative Suite. Now Serif are offering a similar deal for 120! I don't understand why anyone could complain. App store policies mean that everybody gets the same great deal. Why resent other people's good luck? BTW, Designer 2 is a game changer, plugging most of the gaps that prevented it from being a full replacement for Illustrator.

Sorry you are disappointed, but my reply here explains that if there was a promo code for existing users it would give you the 40% and less for everyone else.

Unfortunately no: many users have already tried these paths and always get the same error: "The system cannot access the file".
This seems to be more of a Windows problem and not a third party developer problem. What could be a solution?

Same problem with DXO Photolab - can no longer export a developed raw file directly to Affinity. Big step backward for me. If there is no workaround for this I'll probably get the refund within the 14 day window and find something else to use.
