Only way I know of on the iPad, is to create your own Swatch Shapes on Canvas and Export a PNG…then open that into V2.
Create/Name New Swatch Application Palette.. (important to use Application Palette so it saves within App for later use, not just a current document)… then drudge through the process of Adding Fill Selection to Palette individually.
In Designer V2 on iPad, we can now import/export Palettes…. files will be named .afpalette …but has to already exist, kinda of like Recorded Macros.
It seems another hindrance to inabilities the iPad has compared to Desktop (which Desktop users will claim is fair due to the pricing models🤣)

I played with this some more. Could not find any “reverse” tool for nodes. I got the shape I was after, and the video shows my steps.
What gave the first two nodes the idea that they were curve nodes? The two open triangles came from a square, and I modified no points at any time, except after the first Join procedure gave that wonky curve which went well off screen.
Thank you for any clues.
Think that it does the ‘rounded’ join simply by default, not sure why…seems like default would be the other way around, applying strait line joining.
‘Tapping ‘Join’ again…simply converts it into the straight line join. Guess it gives the option…1 tap join- rounded nodes, 2 tap join- straight line. 🤷♂️ -
Alas…it is yet another of the Desktop Only features evidently, at least by way of generating the entirety of colors in a Document/Image to a new Palette.
You can create a Document Palette….as in Creating/Naming a new empty palette…then by using the Eyedropper, select colors and then “Add Fill to Palette”…but have to do so individually not all of them at once.
In Procreate…you can easily create a color palette from images etc…which may be a workaround, but the drawback is that it doesn’t organize them (they are randomly selected and placed).
But, in Procreate you can easily Create a Palette from Photos (Images), Documents, and even using the Camera…which just hold up/hover and colors will fill in instantaneously with what’s in view, then snap a pic…imports it into Panel. Can Share/Export it into Affinity. But in Affinity….seems that this and lots of other useful features are absent on the iPad Version.

They aren’t! That’s exactly my point: if the iPad apps had all the features that their Windows counterparts have, plus gestures that the Windows apps don’t have, how could the price differential be justified?
Well…they never even gave us the option. Handed us nothing but scraps. Give us the full Monty…and guarantee there are those that would pay. Could even keep the Lite version and have two viable ways to get it (and Serif to make money). But if they don’t even give the opportunity…can’t say anything one way or the other actually.
Should we include the notion that - anyone purchasing the Desktop Universal License is being unfairly shortchanged…because they bought the full Affinity V2 software bundle for Desktop AND iPad Versions, yet not getting the full features on iPad?!

Why? Again, you paid about 1/3 the price, or less, for your software on the iPad. Why should it have all the functionality.
For all the functionality, you should pay the full desktop price.
Fine by me. Bring it.

How would it be fair for desktop users to get no extra features and no touch controls when they’re paying more than three times as much for the desktop version of the app?
Alfred

Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher for Windows 1.10 • Windows 10 Home/Pro
Affinity Photo for iPad 1.10 • Designer for iPad 1.10 • iPadOS 15.6.1 (iPad Air 2)
Didn’t know Windows Desktops were capable of touch controls in the first place.🤣

Thank you! So, I have to choose synchronize every time? There’s no way to have it be automatic, if an object is selected?
It just enables you to continue with or without as an option, instead of always being stuck…but can easily get back to again if needed.
You can select the Default > Save …to Synchronise it (for your current open Document/Canvas)…Save (globally, this and other created Documents)…or Revert (last synchronized).
Once Synched, it should remember the last one selected…if Saved, it should retain unless another gets selected and synched.
Here’s a good Tutorial covering it… Objects- Synchronize from Selection

Sigh... as software developer I need to create multiple versions of icons and screenshots all the time. I really had hoped for some improvements on the batch/export features in Affinity Photo and Designer. I have a clunky AppleScript to make the different versions in RetroBatch. But batch/export should be a core feature for the Affinity apps.
Assets, Symbols, and/or Export Persona wouldn’t work?

This doesn’t seem to be working for me?
On the Toolbar at top… your Pencil Tool for No Fill and Auto-close are deselected.
This enables you to use/draw…without those if desired, including the Synchronize from Selection. Turn these on and should work.

Select all Shapes/Objects > 2Finger Hold on screen + Move the center outer edge handles.

With the Brush tool active, tap on the brush properties "button" in the context toolbar, the one usually displaying the nozzle profile and the pixel width.
Select Dynamics, then select Tilt for each attribute you want to have affected by that.
For example, the size of a brush is usually affected by Pressure. If you change to Tilt, then holding the pencil flat will paint wide strokes, while holding it absolutely vertically will draw a thin line, both regardless the pressure now. More or less just like you would draw with a real pencil.Works with Apple Pencil 1.
And of course, you can save your own brush variations with any such properties that you want.
Oh yeah, forgot about that. Never really use Affinity for Illustration/Painting. Always use Procreate. Exceptionally better for it.

Possible the proximity of objects as to where they are to the other. Often, if trying to Select objects/curves on one Layer, it can instead select another on the Layer above or below it. Is difficult for it to tell which…unless you Zoom in closer.
so can do 2 things….
1-When some Objects overlap each other due to the Layers, try and Lock the Layer you don’t wish to select…then can freely select nodes on the other.
2-Zoom in (Navigator Panel) to differentiate your selections better..
Also, can check the Preference Settings > Tools > Select Object when intersects with Selection Marquee is Off. -
You Long/Press on New…or Press/Drag (New has a small corner arrow) and options list pops up.
-
Not any that I know of, not like you can in Procreate. Only know of Pressure settings but If there is, would love to know.

iPadOS is a platform on its own, with a lot of challenges to be solved, that are usually a non-issue on desktop OS.
I'm actually surprised how well the Affinity suite works on iPad. But I've never had v1 on iPad, got v2 via the Universal License. So I can't compare directly. But in the past few years I have tried a few other design apps on the iPad. None of those was usable for my workflow yet.Anyway, we've been using iPads since 2011 (iPad 2). Until now they were literally just our family "consumer device" for casual internet connection, video streaming and the like. Now with Affinity v2, I have also bought an Apple Pencil, and I'm looking forward to actually make some money on the iPad in the near future. (Not yet though: real jobs are still being done with v1 on a pre-Catalina Mac. Never change a rock solid ecosystem!
)
Don’t have to convince me. Have used Apple since Apple IIE Basic.

Not a Long Press here ….a simple Tap will do.

Does this fully backup everything? Also, if it's only AP that gets fritzed, I would have to do a full restore, so any other data in any other apps would be restored to their old values which would not exactly be helpful?
Yes, in backing up the iPad, it would back up everything.
If wanting to simply Save certain items like these, just create a File folder to save it in on Cloud Storage (iCloud, Dropbox…) just like Archiving .afphoto etc files or images.I do similar with Fonts…now even more so, because lack of data/files transfer between Versions. Then can easily retrieve if the unexpected losses happen.

Is not just the Brushes…same as in the Assets, as well.

It's been acknowledged by Serif that the iPad apps V2 are slightly behind their desktop counterparts featurewise. Quite a few of the new features haven't been fully implemented yet. My uneducated guess is that apparently, they wanted to meet a V2 release deadline before the end of the year (marketing!) while one of the conditions was that all apps must be released on all platforms simultaneously. My uneducated guess also is that this was decided at the executive level, not in the developer labs.
But that's how business goes…
Funny how iPad V2 is similarly behind their counterparts, just as V1 after so much time, and never seemed to catch up. Got a few uneducated guesses of my own on that.✌️

Not personas, and there's no "Edit in" command (yet), but all you need to do is to save your *.afdesign, and then simply open it with Publisher. Once in Publisher, use the StudioLink. You may even want to "Save As" *.afpub. Remember: The file extension is only there for defining the default app to open the document. The actual document format is the same for all three apsp.
Yes, this and other solutions are already known… asking for more than just a workaround, really. It is something so simple…AND included in the Desktop version, with a Right-click of a mouse. But then, guess that pretty much sums up yet another simple thing not included in iPad V2.
-
I know there is the option in Publisher, but there is no way to Insert Filler Text from within Designer.
Can do so on Desktop version, just unclear if possible on iPad version, when producing Layouts.
Since you cannot Switch Personas from Designer to Publisher….as you could from Publisher to Designer for example…how can you insert simple Filler Text, as can be performed in Desktop version (and Tutorials)…?

Aammppaa has the easiest best way perhaps.
What I found is similar to having to do the 2 tap on Join, in your other nodes post…but is Nodes only….problem is, still have to do Object Add at end.
For the Ellipse….break in half as you have done… but select only the Left (or Right) End nodes of both halves > Tap Join….it will apply the rounded join, but tap the Angle Nodes Icon and should apply the straighten joining.
Use the Magnet to select Snapping Handles option > Drag Handle to snap on outer edge.
