    Hey folks,
back again with a small composite made of three photos from last year's trip to Bali and some burning sky stuff I shot during summer.
    Result:

It could need some more finetuning for sure, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
    What do you think?

    Hey folks,
here is another edit/composite using AP
    Result (work in progress):

    Source:

At the moment, I am not quite happy about the masking of the palm leaves
Refining the mask crashed Affinity Photo several times, so I tried my best with manual masking, but I am still not where I want to have it - maybe I will have to spend another hour to get it right...
If you have some good hints about better masking, I would be happy
Besides, what do you think about the edit?
    Cheers, Marc

First image (of course) is a dandelion which is edible.
Second image is of the flowers of red russian kale plant.
Third image --- the one that looks like a hairy egg in a thorny nest --- is a thistle plant going to seed. The stalk is edible and tastes much like celery.
The last image is of a flower that my wife says it related to the "sweet pea" family --- yeah, the one sticking its tongue out at the camera.

    Hey Ronny,
I will adjust the overall temperature when I am back home. I already applied a lens filter but it seems that it wasn't enough
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

I would consider adjusting the white point of the source image to be warmer toned to match the sunset sky. As it is now, the highlights and over all tone are clearly from a few hours before or after mid day, so the source image looks too cold/blue in its tones.
I would try Split toning the image with much warmer highlights and slightly warmer shadows.

Hello Dear Friends, Hello Community !
Well, i was far for long time due to many reasons and the most important one to be, i needed to spend time with my wife and son and also take a rest ... on the other hand, i needed to learn more and do some private test of what i learned.
You may ask what i was learning that took me so much time, well i would simply reply: the Art of Photo Retouch, Photo Composition and simply said, the art of Photography.
Well my weak point that i still need to improve is Photography and all pixel related stuffs while my understand and level of vector works is much higher now.
Not saying that much, iwas contacted by a brithing company to make a simple Facebbok banner that fits their vision.
Specialized in travel with couple of side services, Tamawis trusted me for a small and quick work which resulted on the banner attached here.
Like for all previous works, please add your inputs and tell me what would you do to make even better and if there is a style that you would recommend me to learn that can help me get better.
... the job was done with Affinity Publisher 1.7.0.270 + Affinity Photo 1.7.0.112 Beta exclusively .... Here i made more use of Adjustment and Mask but also the Develop persona helped a lot even if i expect more to be added to Affinity Photo to make it really what it is to be.
    Blessings !

I like your sunset/rise imposed on the sky. However, I find that the Swan looks wrong. It looks to be the wrong size. I'm not sure what size it should be though. Are Mute Swans found in Cambodia? I can find no indications that they are. Perhaps it is this that jars.

Thought I might share one of my paintings drawn using Affinity Photo, the red radio is a photo and the rest is drawn to create an image for a possible concept story that I have been working upon.
The eyes are drawn using one of the Affinity tutorials.   I am very impressed with this software package and the company’s commitment to making the software approachable to all creators.
I am self taught and really wish to encourage new talent and provide a perspective from someone who is not a professional designer but wanted to give it a go.   I would like Affinity to do a series of spotlight on new amateur talent.  I think that it might encourage more budding media artists and kick start new possibilities.
    Thanks Affinity.

Many thanks for the honest comments -- I really appreciate to hear how other really see it . Perhaps the flying birds should be  left more as original . Always seems a long exercise to get the position of the elements "perfect".  And yes; the sky is too heavy
I took a few more photos of the tree and sunrise colors this morning as there were some light clouds there so I can more time making the "perfect" photo.

It's amazing really that I have lived in this house for 18 years but I have never noticed the potential of that actual angle even though I would have seen it often

The original image -- would be 100 mtrs away from the backyard
    Cheers

Here's a project that I've been working on - on-and-off, a couple of hours here and there - for a while now.
It is a basic recreation - using Designer and Publisher - of a genuine UK Government booklet that was commissioned in 1976 for distribution if nuclear war broke out. It was on sale from 1980 but was to be distributed free to every household if things stated to look really bad.
I've tried to be reasonably accurate in recreating it as best I can be bothered to but there are still some issues:
    * The booklet was manually typeset in 1976 so the actual typefaces used are probably not available in digital form. I've tried to get close but there are differences.
    * Where reasonable I have tried to keep the typography as it is in the original document, including the strange 'quirks' that don't seem to have a good reason for being there. (Almost every paragraph needed some manual tweaking.)
    * The colours are probably not accurate. I've been working from scanned documents of differing quality and don't have the original to hand (a quick check on eBay shows some originals going for up to £75).
    * The image on the front/back cover was created entirely in Designer but it's not a perfect facsimile.
    * All of the other images were taken from a scan and tidied up - with GIMP - to differing extents (usually very basic stuff). I simply don't have the skill or patience to recreate them with vectors, especially for a silly experiment like this.
    * Some things - weird layout, strangely positioned text, etc. - that bugged me in the original have been 'improved'.
    * I've added a disclaimer to remind the reader that they're not looking at the original document, just in case there was any confusion.
While reading the booklet I recommend listening to the 12" Annihilation Remix of "Two Tribes" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. The narration in the song includes phrases from the TV information film that accompanied this booklet, and some phrases that were in the original script but dropped from the film for 'decency purposes'.
This took me way longer to do than I expected it to but it was a good learning exercise.
I hope you like reading it. Know your warning sounds people!
Note 1: To see it clearly, click on the image and zoom in.
Note 2: The image quality has been deliberately reduced to make it less easy to use for nefarious purposes.

bit of a just for fun photo composite of four images   started with very recent sunrise image >I found it to too hard to line up the wires >added a rectangle marquee >added outline > added mask > removed the outline not needed >use warp tool to add the bend / saging > added masks to bird image > removed wire> added a darken blend layer. No idea how convincing it is > all photos taken with a little Pana Fz300 from the house yard Suggestions, honest comments and questions welcome
