I use Figma for Web/UI Design and Affinity for everything else. Having this compatibility would be great.

    Hi everyone!
I am just wondering if there are any plans on bringing a live preview of JPEG compression in the export persona.
I seen someone had a similar post in the forum a few years back but there are still no updates on the feature.

I agree there needs to be improvements here. Sub folders for better swatch organising would be great also.

Niall123492 got a reaction from ra.skill in I moved to Adobe for work reasons, Affinity continues to impress.
Recently I had to open an Adobe account for work reasons. The biggest thing I noticed while making the move is how much thought has went into the UI of Affinity products. Simple tasks are a lot easier in Affinity and overall it's a nicer platform to work in.
Affinity does lack in features, especially Vector warping, distorting, etc.
Overall Affinity continues to impress and I think it wont be long until they catch up. In terms of working experience, Affinity is already ahead.

Bringing up an old topic ...
What's the status with "WebP Export" implementation? I had in mind it was planned for 1.9.xxx? ... are there any news on this topic or decisions made? Still kind of desperately looking for the export option.
    Cheers, Timo

It depends how you have stacked things in the appearance panel, and which type of stoke position you have used - center, inside or outside.
Then you click on each one, the stroke you are working on will be indicated by a white dot on the left, go to the colour panel and change colours.

Thanks for this suggestion. We are considering other uses, but this would require you "storing/uploading" those files to a secure personal location, so there is lots to consider before offering that sort of feature.

    Hi Nial123492,

Thank you very much for the files. I can confirm it is indeed being caused by the Montreux fonts. Specifically these ones:
Montreux Classic ExtraBold Montreux Classic Black Italic Montreux Classic Soft ExtraBold Italic Montreux Grotesk ExtraBold Montreux Grotesk Black Italic Montreux Jazz ExtraBold Montreux Jazz Soft Extrabold I'll get this passed over to development to be fixed. In the meantime you would be best to avoid using those specific fonts. If you go into Publisher's Font Manager you can see which fonts each document uses and also use it to locate them in your document. I think you may also use the Find & Replace feature to bulk change these on larger documents.

This is a direction Affinity should eventually move.  In CorelDRAW, this sort of thing is quite easy.  In one approach, Use the options of the contour tool to create all the curves (at one time), then manually color them.  You'd do this if you wanted a coloring scheme that didn't fit a gradient neatly.  Affinity Designer beta has a contour tool, but it lacks the option to create multiple contour curves in a single step.
Another approach would be to use the contour tool to create just the innermost and outermost curves, assign colors to them, then use the blend tool (Affinity Designer does not currently have a comparable tool) to generate all the intermediate curves (at one step).  The coloring, as well as the shape, of the intermediate curves is interpolated between the inner and outer curves defining the blend.
The latter technique is not limited to inner/outer curve pairs generated with a fixed offset by the contour tool.  In fact,  in CD it is a basic technique for shading in realistic vector illustration.  I eagerly await the day when AD has similar capabilities.

    Hi Niall123492

Could you upload a copy of the file that is failing to export, the fonts used in the document and finally a PDFLib log. To get this log it you need to enable it by following the steps below. I've also created a dropbox link to allow you to upload your contents to our internal Dropbox account.

    Hi everyone,
I just thought I would create a post to express my excitement for the upcoming 1.9 updates. 🤯
I have been using the Affinity suite since 2017, and in the past few years I have been using it for my freelance brand identity work. I think the tools are great, yes they do have their limitations and are sometimes frustrating as you have to find workarounds to achieve certain things. However, overall I have enjoyed working with the Affinity suite and things are only getting better. Some great features and fixes are being added with this update.
A big thanks to the team working behind the scenes to keep the Affinity suite moving forward. 🙌

    Hi @Niall123492,

We're aware that clicking on a Pantone creates a new document palette if one already exists, and subsequent selections of Pantones do not add them to the palette.

Regarding your other issue of your palettes disappearing - this is simply because you're search string of 'black' is still preset and because it doesn't match any terms in your other palettes they're appearing blank - remove this and you will see your colours.

Niall123492 reacted to Mark Oehlschlager in Mesh Warp Live Filter Please
I've seen some very nice product mock-up template files built in Affinity Photo making use of embedded files that allow for the substitution of new art in the embedded files. See the video below.
The problem is that what is possible to build is limited to flat plane objects (e.g., posters, book covers, iPad screens) because while there is a Perspective Live Filter to distort flat planes, there is no Mesh Warp Live Filter that would allow designers to wrap embedded files around curved or cylindrical shapes like wine bottles.
Is there any chance we might see a Mesh Warp Live Filter within the next few point upgrades? Please?
