  1. Makes sense. I've reverted to 1.9.0, at least it can save so I'm out of the woods for the moment.
  2. Thanks for having a look. I've been trying to attach the report to this post, to no avail. It just won't upload, just stays in queue indefinitely. Thanks for providing yours. How did you figure out the problem came from page 8 onwards ? Here it is, it finally worked. 4cfdb24f-f414-446e-b7e9-edc9e1553c7b.dmp
  3. Goddammit, I can't open the last versions because they include features from a later version. Good thing I version my files a lot. Ok I tried and if I go back five saves it opens fine, but that's over one month back, which is obviously more work than I can redo in one afternoon. So I think I'll try 1.9.0 again and see if I can see past the slowness (I'll just close the paragraph panel lol) and the alignment issues and get a PDF out at least. I know I have my part to play in testing the beta relases and all, but no matter what this shouldn't happen... it shouldn't happen at all...
  4. Hi all, 1.9.1 solved the performance issues I was having as well as text wrap not working, inline images behaving strangely, etc. (which is great!) but now I cannot save my document. "Save" or "Save as" result in an instant crash. Saved file exists but its size is 0kB. I don't know what to do. Reverting to 1.9 means having the aforementioned issues again, and reverting back to pre-1.9... I don't know what this entails, I'll just have to try. Meanwhile here's my file. It doesn't have the images because once I make them embedded I can't save the file. If it's really important I'll try to do this in 1.8 https://we.tl/t-5DVOrJeamm Look I'll be honest, it's all starting to be somewhat crippling. I can't meet half my deadlines because of all this... Cheers, Hadrien
  5. I had been experiencing pretty much *all of those bugs* and it was quite discouraging : APu had slowed to a crawl, alignment and snapping issues, inline & pinned media moving about strangely, text not obeying wrap settings, and so on. Thanks a lot for the fixes ! just in time for a deadline this afternoon. Hadrien hmmmm wait it crashes on saving now. Will report.
  6. Hah, I love seeing issues being sorted out. I can't say how to replicate the corruption in my file -I guess it could have happened at any point, although like I said it was just, uh... prep work ? I hadn't actually made anything with that layout yet, just the master pages with some elements on it... really basic stuff, so I don't where it could have gone wrong. If it happens again you'll hear from me (not in a confrontational way, I mean I'll just ping you).
  7. It was off. actually APu was not even set to use the GPU (it was set to the intel integrated GPU). When I tried activating it (after setting it to the actual GPU) it popped up a message saying I need to be running at least Windows 10.0.19042 (I have no idea what mine is, attached is a capture of the "winver" dialog) and a recent graphics card : mine is a GTX1660Ti, I would expect it to qualify ? Thanks for your help. In any case, these settings should not tamper with exports. As I understand it they're only supposed to improve viewing/navigation performance.
  8. Some of it may indeed be due to my own limited knowledge, I just don't know how much. I'll try to round up problematic files and submit them. Meanwhile, thanks for investigating these.
  9. That's my experience. The difference in names is just because I took them at different times, trying whether or not it would behave differently with one and two master pages... I alo tried renaming them at one point. I should have thought this would create confusion, sorry. I almost didn't do anything with this document, it's almost empty. I just created a cover page with a linked picture and a title, then a master page with two text frames, and finally created a double page and applied that master to it. It was at this point I realized the page was way bigger than it should be. To say the truth, I am encountering a lot of glitches with master pages generally (having to do with editing detached mostly), but they're hard to reproduce and I'm never sure whether it's a single issue or several stringed together. I'll try to be more thorough and report those as well in the future.
  10. Is this new for you ? I can't create an A5 document now but I could a few weeks ago. Is this human error ? I'm questioning every click now
  11. Thanks, but this is was not my question ? I know facing means two pages, that is what I intended to create : two pages, each one A5, that together make up an A4. The issue is the spread size changes after creation, or rather it's created with the wrong size in the first place : 296*420mm is A3 !
  12. Hi, here is a link to the initial thread where I asked for help regarding theses issues. Apologies for bundling two issues into one report, but it turns out they're linked. Everything you need should be there : thorough description of the issues, screen captures, and files. edit these happen both in 1.8.5.703 release and 1.9.0.902 beta. Cheers, Hadrien
  13. Hi all, seems like I'm stumbling on problem upon problem today. When I create a new 148*210mm master spread, it ends up creating a 296*420mm spread. See attached images, first is the "new spread" dialog box, second is the "spread properties" dialog box of the newly created spread. What is happening...? Any help will be most appreciated. Hadrien edit changing "page preset" back to A5 does not change it. When I click ok and open the spread properties again, it's back to "custom" and dimensions are unchanged. Here's the file : guide_pv_002.afpub
  14. Ok, I solved both problems and found as many bugs in the process. Who should I report this to ? 1. the blank blocks were indeed linked to my master page's background images having live filters/adjustments on them. I rasterized them and the problem is gone. 2. what's also solved is my exported PDF having rasterized text - it's now actual text, made of glyphs which can be selected. And for some reason it was solved by the process described above. Here is the old file (glitchy on PDF export) : https://we.tl/t-TcIkcuuc4z -and here is the new file (working fine, only difference is I rasterized the pictures on the master page "page_double") : https://we.tl/t-0PTOCzWhBK
  15. I'll do that ! Meanwhile here's a capture of the layers from my master page. New development : every time I export, the "blank blocks" are in a different place. Seems like APu is struggling during the export, in this case it wouldn't have much to do with the structure of my file. Maybe I should rasterize the live filters on my background image, see if it's not the cause of the problem. Hold on...
  16. Thanks. I've been trying to, but deleting pages crashes AP instantly... is there another way ? I could share it in its entirety I guess, but I'm not comfortable with doing that publicly. Can I DM you ? I'll see if I can embed the images in the document.
  17. Hi all, I hope I'm not being two much of a solicitor here, been posting quite a bit. I'm exporting my document now and although previously exporting PDFs has been a breeze, this particular time I'm experiencing problems : some of the images in it have blank squares in them, as if these parts had been simply erased with a perfectly square brush. See attached images. guide_extrait_capture is a capture from inside AP, (as it should be), guide_extrait.pdf is my faulty export, and guide_extrait_master_page_background is my master page containing the faulty image, actually a regular photo with two effects : a gradient map (adjustment) and a gaussian blur (live filter). so as to appear as a light shade behind the page content. edit another issue I'm having is that text is being rasterized, I don't want that. All relevant export options seem to be set, so I don't know where to look. guide_extrait.pdf
  18. Hi all, is there any news on this ? I also have long tables that I would like to have flow between pages (they're too long for a single page). As soon as I reached the end of the page it was on, and pasted in some more text from my source document, the table disappeared. It's still there... but invisible and sort of locked, as if it were part of the master page, but it's not :it's been pasted inline in the text frame from of the master page.
  19. Thank you so much for your help ! I don't really understand what is happening : my paragraph style has no outdent... and I thought the settings in the paragraph panel reflected those from the style ? Are they some kind of override that's applied on top of the style ? @Ray S. is that what they are, overrides ? (edited because I misunderstood your reply)
  20. Sure, I should have done that from the start ! Here it is. guide_table_alignment_problem.afpub
  21. Hi all, this is probably just me not knowing my way around tables yet. I can't seem to center text correctly in them ? Whichever text style I choose (and those have no indents or margins whatsoever), I end up with this (see attached capture). Both text and images are off-center by a few millimeters. I haven't found anything that could cause this in "table formats", or in "table". "Autofit column to contents" resizes the column but keeps this margin. Notice that it happens only on the right-hand-side, on both columns in my table : content aligns nicely to the left, touching the border of the table like it should. Any ideas ? Cheers, Hadrien
  22. Hi all, I am getting instant crashes on creating a table of contents (when clicking on "insert table of contents"), on Windows 10, AP version 1.8.5.703. This is problematic as I have a deadline approaching. If I can't make it work I'll do it by hand, of course. Here is my file. Can someone take a look at it ? Focus the body of text on page 3 and try inserting a TOC. Thanks, Hadrien guide_v023.afpub
