[No "convert text to path" option in layermenu?]

Hi everyone,

Probably a dumb question, but i'm trying to make a text in a circle. I see a lot of tutorials where they make an elipse and then go to Layer > convert to text path..

Now... i dont have that option? Also if i draw an elipse and i select the tekst tool afterwards there is no curved line under the tekst.

Can someone tell me how to make it work?
